The Challenge

As image-guided therapies become increasingly personalized, clinicians require better ways to transform medical imaging data into actionable patient-specific models. While modern imaging studies contain detailed anatomical information, generating accurate 3D representations for surgical planning, procedural guidance, and clinical simulation remains a complex and fragmented process. Existing workflows often involve multiple software tools, manual segmentation, and specialized technical expertise, creating barriers to adoption and clinical scalability. A more seamless approach is needed to convert patient specific imaging data into interactive 3D models that support treatment planning, improve procedural confidence, and enable more precise patient care. By enabling clinicians to better understand patient-specific anatomy before and during procedures, these technologies can support more personalized treatment planning, greater procedural precision, and improved patient outcomes.

The Solution – INOVAIT Project

To address these challenges, Luxsonic Healthcare integrated a new AI-powered 3D visualization workflow into its Enterprise Imaging platform as part of the Cloud Intelligence Suite. The solution enables clinicians to securely access DICOM studies, automatically segment anatomical structures using cloud-based AI, and generate interactive patient-specific 3D models from medical imaging data. By replacing traditionally fragmented and resource-intensive workflows with a streamlined end-to-end process, the platform makes advanced 3D visualization more accessible for clinical applications. Initial use cases focus on spinal surgery simulation and education, with broader applications being explored in presurgical planning, treatment evaluation, and image-guided therapy. By helping clinicians better visualize complex anatomy and prepare for procedures, the solution supports more precise treatment planning and improved patient care.
